Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Bilingual Pages mobile application or website (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Bilingual Pages provides bilingual books, reading tools, translation features, vocabulary history, and EPUB reading functionality designed to help users learn languages through reading. The Service may include free content and premium features available through a paid subscription.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

Bilingual Pages offers auto-renewing subscriptions that provide access to premium features, which may include premium books, importing your own EPUB files, advanced translation features, offline access, and synchronization features.

• Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account or, where applicable, your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.
• Renewal charge: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period at the price of the selected subscription plan.
• Managing subscriptions: You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings or, where applicable, your Google Play account settings after purchase.
• Free trial: If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the free trial period may be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Refunds: Refunds are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play according to their respective policies.

4. User Accounts

The Service may allow you to sign in using third-party authentication providers, such as Apple or Google. You are responsible for maintaining access to and security of the third-party account you use to sign in. We are not responsible for any loss of access caused by issues with your third-party account provider.

On Android, sign-in may be required to enable synchronization features. Purchasing a subscription through Google Play does not necessarily require sign-in to Bilingual Pages.

5. User-Imported Content

The Service may allow you to import your own EPUB files. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right to access, store, and use any files you import into the Service.

You may not use the Service to import, store, distribute, or process content in a way that infringes the rights of others or violates applicable law.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, user interface, and original content provided by Bilingual Pages, is owned by Bilingual Pages or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Books, texts, and other materials available through the Service may be owned by Bilingual Pages, licensors, publishers, authors, or other rights holders. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, publicly display, or modify such content except as permitted by the Service and applicable law.

Your imported EPUB files remain your responsibility. Bilingual Pages does not claim ownership of your imported files.

7. Translation Features

The Service may provide automatic translation tools. Translations may be generated using third-party translation services and may not always be accurate, complete, or suitable for every context. The Service is intended for learning and reading assistance and should not be relied upon for legal, medical, financial, or other professional purposes.

Certain translation and imported-book features may require an active premium subscription.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes, but is not limited to:

• attempting to access the Service through unauthorized automated means;
• reverse engineering, copying, or modifying the Service;
• interfering with the security or operation of the Service;
• using the Service to distribute harmful, illegal, or infringing content;
• attempting to bypass subscription, payment, or access restrictions.

9. Privacy and Data

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. The Service may store reading progress, imported book metadata, vocabulary entries, and other app data locally on your device and, if enabled, through iCloud synchronization or other supported synchronization services, including Android synchronization supported through Firebase services.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that may harm Bilingual Pages, other users, or third parties.

You may stop using the Service at any time. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Subscriptions must be cancelled through your App Store account settings or, where applicable, your Google Play account settings.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce specific language learning results.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bilingual Pages shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective means that you accept the updated Terms.
